Tycon Power TPW-400DT
The TPW Series Wind Turbines from Tycon Power Systems are lightweight at less than 10.5kg and are designed for ease of installation and long service life. The generator is a very low cogging force design for better performance in light winds and is packaged in a fully sealed die cast anodized aluminum enclosure. There are no brushes to wear out or cause electrical noise and the bearings are sealed so the system is maintenance free. The blades are glass reinforced nylon for high strength, UV resistance and fatigue resistance. The turbines are 12V/24V auto select for battery voltage.
The blade diameter of the 400W is 1.12 meter. The 6 blade design offers better performance in light winds and reduced vibration when spinning at speed.
The TPW series wind turbines have automatic overspeed protection to prevent damage in high winds. The blade assembly is removable as 1 piece for hurricane protection and ease of assembly.
The permanent magnets used are Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) for higher power output.
Mounting is to the top of a 41mm (1.6”) ID standard pole. The hardware used is stainless steel for corrosion protection.
Now includes an intgerated smart battery charging controller and integrated dump load to optimize battery charging and regulate turbine RPM. Using the dump load resistor can prevent premature braking of the wind turbine in high winds thus optimmizing the power that goes to the batteries.
